I must go down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky,

And all I ask is a tall ship, and a star to steer her by…

A Lizard Dreams of the Sea

  1. I had a gecko for many years, named Nicholas, and this adventurous-looking fellow reminded me of him.
And before anyone else says it, yes, the title could have been “Iguana Go to Sea” except pretty sure this is a gecko.

    • You’ve got geckos in Texas? I didn’t know that. NYS has just a few little lizards and skinks, lots of tiny newts and salamanders in the woods & streams, but geckos wouldn’t survive this climate. I’m guessing Texas has a lot more variety. I’ve seen Gila monsters in a zoo

        • Holy cow! Or I mean, Leapin’ Lizards! I had no idea. I stop at every zoo, every place we get to, but haven’t seen half of these before I guess. Thank you, Linda. I’m out of town right now, so this will be good reading for the plane ride home.
