Random thoughts for 2020, looking through snapshots from 2019

Try fixing something instead of throwing it away. (A P-40 Warhawk under restoration at the Glenn Curtiss Museum in Hammondsport, NY)

Drink more water. It’s good for you. And in Wisconsin, even though we prefer beer, we need to drink up the water, or it accumulates, freezes, and becomes a hazard — folks, this is a matter of indisputable, rigorous scientific thinking – – see the above illustration of the Titanic. Too much water + too cold = trouble.
Regularly read Robert’s posts.
Ha! Thanks Denzil
Love those, Robert! 🙂 I could never do #2, and I don’t need ANY resolution for #3. 😀
Btw, I have given up on New Year’s resolutions as I’ve never really kept them.
A Happy New Year to you,
Pit
Happy New Year, Pit! 😀
🙂
Words to live by. Photos to admire.
Thanks Michael! i’m looking at your WiPed non-monochrome, on my phone it definitely looks B&W, i’ll look again on my computer when I’m home. and intriguing shot in any case!
Thank you. I’m not done with it yet. It’s a work in progress. I will probably go to monochrome.
Wasn’t there a hippie song along those lines?
If you’re going to Monochrome, oh,
Be sure to rid all colors that are there…
I love your sense of humor. I was smiling and chortling throughout this post. All the best for 2020! I have just had to re-follow you as you had dropped off my follows. That seems to happen to me on WP. I have complained about it but it continues. No matter. I’ve got you back on my list!
Thank you, Anne, and I appreciate the company! 😃
Looking for patterns in our environment appears to be the characteristic we share apart for our passion for photography. Great selection of random resolution, Robert!
Thank you, Peter, and best wishes for 2020!
I don’t know if I ever sang in the shower. I should start doing that!
Everybody sounds like Pavarotti in the shower!
What a wonderful list, and so creatively done. I could stand to make every one of them my own, although I’m already practicing a few. The illustration for “Don’t nitpick” is perfect, and made me laugh, but I did pause for a minute when I got to “make a to-do list, and do everything on it.” I think I could manage that, as long as the list was short enough! The kitty photo is my favorite; every now and then I miss mine, and that one brought her back in a flash.
Happy 2020 to you, Rob. I hope it’s a great year — stay away from those icebergs!
Thank you, Linda, best wishes to you for a great year! That cat (Yaller or Yeller depending on which person in the family you ask) turns 17 this spring. Milwaukee really is an icy place, but I like my job at the university and my co-workers, and it’s a good place to live.
Or ‘Yowler’ sometimes?
yes! a very vocal cat
As soon as I saw the post’s title I knew we were in for some tongue-in-cheek text. You didn’t disappoint.
May 2020 prove advantageous.
Thank you, Steve, best to you too!
I don’t have a shower. Can I sing in the bath, or should I be drinking the water instead of bathing in it in case it freezes?
Profound and entertaining! Happy new year.
Happy new year George. It’s the Twenties, perhaps time for bathtub gin.
Now that’s a fine idea!
Hi George – I have really enjoyed your current Arthurian post, but WP is not allowing me to comment for some reason
Hi Robert, glad you enjoyed it. Sorry you’re unable to comment . I can’t think why that would be. I’ve just checked and all plugins are up to date and no comments are being reported as blocked or spam. Are you getting a specific error message?
The comment field indicates that I should login to WP again, but then just spins unendingly.
I also am getting “there has been an unexpected error in loading the comments” so perhaps the problem is on my end,
I get that on another site. Never got to the bottom of it. Some sites I can comment on in the reader, while others I have to visit.
Great illustrations for those, Robert. And wise advice.
Thanks, Mick. ⛄️
All good thoughts, especially the one about drinking up the excess water before it has a chance to accumulate and freeze. 🙂 Have you seen how the Lake is sloshing around Chicago these days? I imagine it is up there, too. Illinois Beach State Park is going under.
Yeah, Port Milwaukee is kind of wrecked right now, with ice and junk covering everything
Oh, I can just imagine. These are crazy days.
What a great way to re-cap a year–with pictures and new/inspirational captions–love it!
Thank you, Cecilia! 🙂
All good resolutions, including an implicit one you didn’t mention: try to give folks the occasional laugh or smile. 🙂
Thanks, Dave! 😀.
I’m glad I RESOLVED to finally read this. (I’ll see myself out.)
Wait, I’ll go with you. I used only low resolution photos for this one.
Bravo!
I don’t do resolutions. Why take on failure. 🙂 OTOH, these are all good and, of course, taken with a smile and a nod. I always look forward to your posts and have never been disappointed. Don’t let that be a resolution. 🙂
Ha! 😀. Thanks, Steve!
Where have I been? Is it too late to come you on this once-timely post? I hope not!
Ha! No worries, Lynn, you can make “No Procrastination” one of your resolutions, I use that one every year! 🙂
