Hi Neil, this was in the Third Ward, which is sort of the arts district. Well, not sort of, it is a legitimate arts district. Lots of fun street art all over
Good title. Four days ago someone mentioned the Dalí Museum in Figueres on the Mediterranean coast, and I replied that I visited it in 1985. If you’re ever in that area, check it out.
Wonderfully fun art, and a nice reminder of a favorite Aaron Neville song that contains the line “see the time melting over the clocks.”
I thought time had melted a bit when I saw hordes of motorcyles on the roads this weekend, and heard on the radio that the Lone Star Rally — a huge biker event — was taking place in Galveston this weekend. I’d thought it wasn’t going to happen until November. Then I remembered: this is November. Whoops.
Yeah October kind of blew right by, didn’t it. Now Thanksgiving is only a couple weeks away, I’m already hungry for pumpkin pie, my favorite.
That “Persistence of Memory” painting has been stuck in my head since I saw it as a kid at a museum in NYC. I’m going to go look up that song right now!
“I’m melting!”
🥵
Like the word play! 👍
Where did you spot this?

Thanks, Steve. I’d love to visit that museum. The only place in Spain I’ve been is Malaga.

I love this! Just wish I had seen it earlier. I forgot to set my clock back an hour–this would have been the perfect reminder.
Thanks Cecelia, I saw it yesterday when I was walking, maybe someone put it there as a reminder.
I’m already looking forward to the winter solstice. Until then, pumpkin pie. And whatever else my hypothalamus tells me to eat.
Some part of my brain has been thinking a lot about rice and beans with some sausage tossed in.
🙂 Nice find!
That’s what happens when clock watchers have a dali-ance with a pole.
Nice!
